The DEFEND App brings a powerful tool to your Defend camera experience: Live View. This feature is designed to give you smarter insights and real-time control from your mobile device.
To access this update, ensure your camera has the latest firmware and is on an eligible subscription plan.
This Firmware (FW) will automatically Update, if the camera is off or has low power, the camera should automatically take the FW when powered on or batteries are changed.

What It Does
Live View gives you real-time video access from your Defend camera, allowing you to monitor activity instantly.
Key Details
- ✅ Available only on Defend cameras (not available for Reveal devices)
- 🔧 Requires a firmware update (Live View will not display until firmware is updated)
- 🕒 Each session:
- Runs for 1 minute 50 seconds, then prompts you to continue
- Max time is 4 minutes per session
- Boot-up takes ~30 seconds (signal-dependent)
- Closing the session during boot-up does not count toward session limits
In-Session Options
- 📸 Take a picture (saved to your phone’s camera roll)
- 🔇 Mute or unmute audio
Plan-Based Access
Live View session limits depend on your plan:

- You can mix Pro and Premium plans across different cameras
- When selecting Premium, you'll choose which camera(s) receive unlimited Live View
- In Stripe, Premium will show as an add-on to the Pro plan
Getting Started
- Update to DEFEND App version 3.0
- Ensure your camera is powered on and connected
- Make sure your firmware is up to date
- Subscribe to the appropriate plan
Accessing Live View from your DEFEND App
Here’s how to access Live View in your Defend app:
Open the Home Feed by tapping the home icon at the bottom of the screen.
Select Live View on the camera you want to see.
A pop-up will appear letting you know that using Live View can affect your camera’s battery life. Tap Yes to continue.
A message will appear letting you know your camera is preparing for Live View. It may take a few moments to wake up.
Once it’s ready, your live feed will appear on the screen.
